Located in Tucson, Arizona, the Pima Air and Space Museum features a number of exhibits that showcase historic aircraft made from manufacturers like Beechcraft, Bell, Boeing, Cessna, Lockheed, and Sikorsky. One of the exhibits is of a Sikorsky MH-53M Pave Low IV helicopter.
Referred to as the H-53 Super Jolly Green Giant, the MH-53M was built during the Vietnam War to operate as a search and rescue helicopter for long-range Air Force missions. The helicopter features night vision equipment and measures 88 feet 2 inches long and 24 feet 11 inches high. The MH-53 has a speed of up to 186 mph and can carry a cargo of up to 42,000 lbs.
