In a real estate career spanning 56 years, Lew McGinnis has handled more than 100,000 apartments and properties. Apart from his real estate accomplishments, Lew McGinnis has served as the head of education for a major Methodist Church and currently is a finance chairman for Criminal Justice and Mercy Ministries, an organization that supports prison inmates and their families.

Criminal Justice and Mercy Ministries aims to empower people released from prison by providing a number of support services. Exodus House, for example, is a six-month residential program that helps individuals released from prison reintegrate into society.
A small apartment furnished with dishes, linens, and other essential items allows residents to live with their families as they pursue employment and reestablish relationships. The program opened its first house in Oklahoma City in 1998. In 2002, an additional Exodus House in Tulsa opened its doors.
